‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Portrait Posters Promise More Outlandish Costumes

We’ve seen a dramatic change in Capitol Couture the past week. And we’re loving it! The Capitol portraits are stunning and it’s impossible to pick a favorite! Our own admin Jessi put it best, “it’s like trying to pick your favorite child!”

As The Playlist wrote, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is playing up the dramatics of the Capitol.

Though we’re a staggering eight months away from its release, Lionsgate has seen fit to start the promotion machine a little early for the newest installment in everyone’s favorite kids-killing-other-kids franchise. Continuing the trend studios have championed over the past couple of years, seven new character/portrait posters have arrived online that show the solemn-faced cast in increasingly ridiculous costumes.

After the runaway success of the first “Hunger Games,” the studio has stepped it up with “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” in a big way with Francis Lawrence using IMAX to bring audiences further into the dystopian world of Suzanne Collins’ books. Indeed, the larger format may prove to be a big boon for the sequel’s costume department which looks to further push their designs for residents of the Capitol.

Most of the main cast is accounted for with Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss leading the pack wearing a dress that is just a dead swan away from being in Bjork’s closet. We even have our first official look at Jeffrey Wright and Jena Malone as Beetee and Johanna, respectively. “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” hits theatres later this year on November 22nd with 100% less Wes Bentley facial hair (RIP). Check out the character posters below.

I’m a big fan of Seneca’s beard, but in exchange we get all these amazing previews in the Catching Fire movie! There is even more to come! Don’t forget tomorrow is the revelation of #HisEminence is #AdoredByAll. Tomorrow at 10am PT!
