Catching Fire Soundtrack Wishlist

In the wake of yesterday’s announcement that Coldplay will contribute a song to the Catching Fire soundtrack, MTV listed a few artists they would like to see on the soundtrack: MS MR, Imagine Dragons, and Mumford & Sons.  This got me thinking: who do I want to see on the album?

I give a HUGE thumbs up to suggestion of  MS MR, who have been on my soundtrack wishlist for a while now, their song “Hurricane” has influenced this decision quite a bit.  They will kick off my wishlist, which will be brief.   Please note: artists listed in no particular order!

I would also LOVE to see Arcade Fire come back with a song for Catching Fire.  Not only do I think it would be nice to have one artist on both albums to tie them together, I also think Arcade Fire is an amazing band.

Another artist who has long been on my wishlist is The xx.  I love their music and I think their haunting vibe would make a great addition to the album.

And last, but not least, an artist I literally discovered yesterday, Bat for Lashes.  They also have some haunting melodies and I believe they could contribute positively to the soundtrack.

OK, so there’s that!  Let us know who you would like to see make a contribution on the soundtrack. Any particular artist from The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond that you would like to see return?  We’d love to know what you think!

  1. My #1 wish is Florence and the Machine! Come on, Florence, make a song for a good movie, for a change, instead of wasting your great songs on the soundtracks for bad movies starring Kristen Stewart. 🙂

I second the wish for Bat for Lashes.

Also, why not Patti Smith? She seems to be a THG fan – she wore the mockingjay pin in at least one of her concerts.
